It is my pleasure to feature the watercolour paintings which I received recently from Class 2PW at Linden Primary School in Leicester, England. In each picture my painting is the one labeled and the others are the children’s paintings based on that selection. Unfortunately names were not put on the paintings so they cannot be identified.
As a special class project in May 2014, the class discovered my website and decided to use my paintings for it. They selected
Sugar Loaf Mountain, Crop Over, In the Shallows, The Meeting Point, Sugar Hills and View from the Bunker.
Then in art class they did watercolour paintings based on my work and followed that up with writing letters to me. As promised they sent some of the paintings as a gift to me by post as well as the most delightful letters about their favourite painting.
I have been very honoured to be included in such a rich experience. Always open to comments I appreciate the candid observations and feelings expressed about my paintings and the curiosity about my work and my home, Jamaica. It is my privilege to commend their teacher Ms. Pearl Wright for her professionalism. Who knows, maybe one day I can accept their warm invitations and visit Linden Primary, Leicester.
